Lulu Joanis
Lulu Sapphy Joanis is a cultural historian with a background in English and genocide studies. Their research focuses include discourse analyses, belief systems, embodied queerness, recorded music, Zionism, and Jewish forms of resistance to Zionism. She graduates in Spring 2026 with the successful defense of “Heaven Is a Place on Earth: Zion-Babylon Dualism and Evocations of Latter-Day Saint, Jewish, and Rastafari Nationalisms, 1830–1980,” her thesis. Lulu has lived all across the United States, and after attaining their Master’s in Denver, they plan to pursue a PhD in Ireland.
